The price of r22 – Freon has doubled since December! There may be a major shortage of freon this summer and the price has skyrocted! The EPA controls the production and import of R22 (Freon) refrigerant. They set limits on how much can be produced and imported each year, but they failed to set limits for 2012. Until the EPA sets these limits, manufacturers must produce 45% LESS than they did last year. This could cause a major shortage of freon.
